Sourcing badges, wristbands & lanyards

Wristbands, lanyards, badge reels and event lights are the pieces that identify people and control access. They are bought by festival and exhibition organisers, HR teams running staff ID, and anyone issuing passes at a gate.

Fabric wristbands and lanyards take a woven, printed or embroidered logo and come in custom lengths and widths. RFID and NFC versions are available where the wristband is doing access control as well as identification — tell us the reader standard if you need that, because it is not something to leave to the sample stage. LED and light-up pieces suit evening events.

Questions buyers ask about badges, wristbands & lanyards

How the trade works, so you can judge a quote — not a spec sheet about us.

Fabric or silicone wristband?

Fabric suits a single event and can carry a woven or printed design across the whole band. Silicone is durable, gets worn for months and suits a cause or a membership. Fabric is a day pass; silicone is a statement someone chooses to keep wearing.

Tyvek, fabric or silicone for access control?

Tyvek is the low-cost single-day option and tears if it is removed, which is what stops passes being handed around. Fabric is comfortable across a multi-day event. Silicone is for keepsakes rather than control. The security requirement decides which one you want.

How do I stop passes being shared?

Use a band that cannot be taken off and re-tied — a sealed tyvek band, or a fabric band with a locking closure. A lanyard passes over a head and can simply be handed to someone else; a closed band cannot. The locking closure costs a little more and removes the problem.

Does lanyard width matter?

A 15 to 20 mm flat lanyard is standard and carries a logo that stays readable; narrower ones are cheaper and the text shrinks with them. If the lanyard is worn by children or near machinery, a breakaway safety clip at the back is worth specifying as well.
